Studying social work, Christoph has spend about half a year in Tanzania. He worked as a teacher in Zanzibar and got involved in several art projects together with the local community. As an cultural anthropologist and with experience in ethnografic film making, Till joined in for a couple of weeks to conduct a photography workshop with the students.
They supplied primary school students with disposable cameras and introduced them to the handling and technical aspects of using the devices. The homework for the class was to take photos of what the studens considered the most important things in their life. As soon as Christoph and Till discovered the first results, immediately they made plans to bringing this project to a higher level. They reached out to schools around the globe and started shipping cameras.
See the video below, to discover how the whole project started.
